This workshop will give teachers the tools to teach students how to gain a deeper understanding of text and explore cross curricular applications. What role do prior knowledge, assumptions and textual or visual evidence play in creating inferences? We will also look at how to develop questioning skills, including cultivating students’ ability to create their own high-level questions. The presenter will model strategies which teachers can use daily in the classroom to develop inference skills.
