Building authentic relationships with students increases opportunities for students to feel connected to their school, their classroom, and their peers. A great model for integrating intentional practices around authentic relationships is through the use of morning meetings.
This introductory course is designed for elementary teachers who wish to incorporate morning meetings in to their daily classroom routines. In this experiential course, we will discuss the structure of a morning meeting, various activities to incorporate throughout the meeting itself, as well as share a network of resources available to all teachers.
Key takeaways include the RRISD district wide framework, student learning targets, CASEL core competencies, as well as lesson ideas and instructional strategies to facilitate authentic relationships in the classroom.
