Summer PD courses will be held at Round Rock High School this year. Please check the course descriptions to register on Eduphoria, and confirmation of location.
Picture This: Your students are engaged in a math problem. All students are using their habits of mind to solve a problem head-on. After time, some students start to discuss different ways to solve the problem while others discuss how reasonable their answers are. As a teacher, you are excited as you watch your students communicate their results and justify their answers. Sound impossible? Not true! In this workshop, participants will learn and experience tasks that allow for multiple entry points to encourage solving problems through a variety of strategies and where reasoning, communicating, and justifying are the norm in the math classroom. These tasks, because of their inclusive design, are great for ALL students you are trying to reach including students with special needs, English Language Learners, gifted students, and struggling students in all grade levels.
In addition to PD credit, teachers will earn 6 units of G/T update credit. Teachers will leave with resources, specific for their grade level, for rich problem solving tasks and ideas of when to incorporate them into their daily math block.
