Ever wonder what your students learned in 5th grade math before coming to 6th grade? In this session, 6th grade math teachers and middle school interventionists will experience the types of strategies highlighted in our RRISD Elementary ARRC. Come learn about the mental fact strategies that students learn as they develop multiplication and division fact fluency. Experience a 5th grade number talk to see how students' computation strategies are recorded symbolically and with visual models. Learn about powerful instructional activities including numberless word problems, notice and wonder, and 3 act tasks, that foster students' mathematical sense making. Let's join forces to help our soon-to-be 6th graders have a successful transition from elementary to middle school mathematics.

Participants include 6th Grade Math Classroom Teachers and Middle School Math Interventionists
