As educators, we often jump directly into lesson planning without developing true clarity about learning outcomes for students. This prematurely directs our focus to teaching while a focus on student learning may take a back seat. This session is designed to support teacher leaders in the implementation of backwards design with their teams. By guiding you through backwards design, you will learn the steps involved to lead your team through the process, and be able to effectively communicate the why of backwards design, creating a culture of authentic engagement. By beginning with the end in mind, we can help teachers bring the most impactful lessons to students of Round Rock ISD.
