Equity & Culturally Responsive Teacher [clear filter]
Monday, July 23

8:30am CDT

CRT - PK-12 - Disrupting Assumptions and Stereotypes
Limited Capacity seats available

Join your RRISD colleagues for an honest conversation about cultural competence and its effects on our students. Participants will engage in the game Your Privilege Is Showing: the social justice card game by Lillian Medville. This game based approach empowers players to show vulnerability and grace when confronting the social divides of sexism, racism and privilege that already exist in each of us. Participants will be challenged to navigate the inevitable discomfort that arises when we consider our own culpability in systems of oppression.
