Mindfulness is popping up everywhere we look - from the cover of TIME magazine to the classroom! The power of breath and taking a moment to pause is a great tool for all individuals to have in their toolbox.

This introductory level course is an experiential course open to all RRISD staff members who wish to dive in to mindfulness practices for their classroom use. This course will discuss the impacts of mindfulness on student achievement, teaching self - regulation skills to students, as well as how language can work together with breathing techniques. Participants will leave with a variety of instructional practices that can infuse mindfulness into the classroom setting to create a safe, inclusive space for everyone.

This introductory course is designed for elementary teachers who wish to incorporate morning meetings in to their daily classroom routines. In this experiential course, we will discuss the structure of a morning meeting, various activities to incorporate throughout the meeting itself, as well as share a network of resources available to all teachers.
